Welcome to the Floyd Bennett Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol

statute-of-liberty-and-capOur main missions at FBCS are to provide assistance to local authorities with emergency services; to prepare our cadets for leadership roles in industry, business, the professions, or the military; and to educate ourselves and the surrounding community about aviation. We truly believe in the squadron motto: readiness strengthens liberty. The squadron is one of the most active in New York City and the only one to earn the 2011-2012 National Quality Cadet Unit Award. We host the annual New York City Group Bivouac.

We welcome anyone, young or old, to come see what we are about and possibly join our unit. No experience is required and there is no obligation to join the military (most members don't ever join the armed forces). A cadet can join anytime between their 12th and 19th birthday (and stay a cadet until age 21), a senior officer may join anytime after their 18th birthday.
